About Tyre Tread Designs and Uses

Each Tyre Tread Has 4 Parts. These Are:


Ribs: these are the raised region of the tread design that is made of tread blocks.

Tread Blocks: these are elevated rubber pieces that make contact with the ground.

Symmetrical Tyre Tread Design

It also provides friction on snow and mud. Due to this reason, all-season tyres or winter tyres may have this pattern in them. The extra friction is useful for high-performance tyres. So, these tyres are preferred for winter tyres or all-season tyres due to their excellent features.


Asymmetric Tyres Tread Design


This type of tyre tread design offers two different patterns. One pattern is on the internal half, and another pattern is on the external half of the tyre. It could be shocking, but both the halves have different resolution.


The inner one is accountable for displacing water and providing damage from aquaplaning. The outer one is responsible for providing grip when driving on dry areas. The tyre tread pattern has tight blocks for lateral stiffness. Hence, it is necessary to have the tyre treads in the best condition.
